    FAQ:

I want to have an Islamic marriage contract, what is required of me?

    The following must be brought:

    1. Marriage approval from the competent US court.
    2. The presence of the wife’s guardian.
    3. Two adult, sane Muslim male witnesses.
    4. The presence of the husband and wife.
    5. Bringing the ID or any proof of identification for everyone.
    6. Paying $300 as a donation to the center.

An Islamic marriage contract cannot be performed without going to the competent American court and obtaining permission to perform an Islamic marriage contract, as this would entail major legal issues.

The witnesses to an Islamic marriage contract must be sane, adult Muslims.
The wife’s guardian must be present when the marriage contract is concluded if she is a virgin who has not been married before. The same applies to a woman who has been divorced or whose husband has died and wants to marry again. If the guardian is not present for any reason, the judge or the legal notary can take charge of her affairs and conclude the marriage contract for her after exhausting all means to obtain the permission of that woman’s guardian.

Islam permits marriage to a woman of the Book (Jewish or Christian), but a Muslim is not permitted to marry a polytheist woman who does not follow any religion.
